I don't even know if I still have a readership...IS ANYONE OUT THERE????
It's been a long while. Oh boy, how much has happened and where should I even begin.
I am a hospitalist now. It's been close to nine months that I am doing this job and it feels like internship all over again. Learn fast, on the fly, hold on it's a bumpy ride.
Private practice is sooo different than Academic. Things run much more smoothly here and they don't. Patients get much better care here....and they don't. I'll explain, I'm sure, soon. It just feels good to actually be back. I will not post much and certainly not on weeks I am working. But I'll have some fun with it.
For those of you who actually remember future intern. She is two years old and the most adorable thing I've ever seen.
We are expecting a son, any day now. But what should I call him?

Oh no! You've succumbed to he dark side and have become a HOSPITALIST! As an ER doc, I love ya buddy, pal of mine, ye who never argues and admits every patient no matter how much of an obvious dump the case is. Did I say that I love ya?
With that said, I personally think that it's a prelude to professional suicide. Hehehe. So ya didn't heed my advice on doing a fellowship to become a nephrologist, cardiologist or GI, heh?

(hopeless on the name thing though - my 5 month old son was nearly stuck with 'you there' as neither of us could agree)
While families quibble and argue over which grandparent, parent, ancestor the child "should" be named after, name your child with the love in your heart. For online, why call him "chip off the block" :)

enjoy the children while they are cute and most importantly cheap I for one am supporting 3 boys in medical school and my baby girl is about to start college next year. My goodness teach them youself so that they can get scholarships. Anyways I loved your article and I am waiting for more. I suggest naming the boy Troy. I think it is a lovely name and it is the only name of my children that had no teasing nick names. MKy other son trae got called all types of things growing up. I married a doctor and was going to become one if I didnt get pregnant during college but make sure those children follow there dreams good luck to you.

I just want to share the information that I have. Based on many researches that have been published, most of the research comes with this result;
25 to 35 percent of patients with cancer will develop depression.
Suffering from both a physical and psychological illness makes patients more ill and disabled. However, it has been proven that the signs of depression in cancerous patients may hard to be picked up since it is superimposed by the complication of the cancer itself.
What ever it is, what we need to do is to keep giving and show our support to them in order to improve life expectancy and increase the quality of life. We can do it!
